Adding Telnet To Windows 7 and Vista

January 8th, 2010 by admin Leave a reply »

When trying to test a system you will sometimes find that telnet is missing. This was intentionally done by microsoft for security reasons. Thankfully adding it is really easy.

Go to the control panel and then click on programs or programs and features (depends on your current view). On the left side there should be a “Turn windows features on or off”. This will allow you to add Telnet to the system (server and client). You can also add/remove other features you do not wish to use or need to use.
